Therapy is a very personal experience, and it’s important that you feel comfortable and understood. The connection between us is essential for your healing and growth, and not every therapist is the right fit for every person. It’s completely normal to wonder if this is the right place for you. To offer more clarity, I provide free 15-20 minute phone consultations to ask any questions you may have about myself or the counselling process at Wild Growth.

Talking about the deep hurts we carry can often feel like we're just reopening old wounds or getting stuck in the very emotions we want to move beyond. While it can bring awareness, it can also leave us frustrated, feeling like we’re trapped in a loop, talking about the same thing over and over without making real progress.
The truth is, it’s not that we’re not feeling, we’re just not fully experiencing it. We’re talking about the pain, but we’re not actually moving through it. It’s like treading water, going through the motions without really connecting to what’s beneath the surface.
That’s why I rely on experiential therapies like Coherence Therapy, EMDR, and DBR. These approaches help you move past the protective blocks and defenses that, while keeping you emotionally safe, have also kept you stuck and suffering. They allow for the deep, transformative shifts that create lasting change, helping you finally break free from the patterns that have been holding you back.

Currently, Wild Growth only offers virtual counselling services. Virtual counselling offers flexibility, convenience, and comfort, allowing you to access therapy from anywhere that’s most convenient for you. It’s especially helpful for those with busy schedules, those living in remote areas, or individuals who may feel more at ease in their own space. Virtual sessions can provide greater accessibility, help maintain continuity of care, and reduce the anxiety some feel about in-person visits. It’s a convenient, private, and effective way to receive the support you need.

While Wild Growth Counselling offers virtual services, which creates vast accessibility, Nichole is a registered social worker in Ontario, Canada. This means she is only licensed to provide services exclusively to individuals who reside within Ontario. If you're located in Ontario, she'd be happy to connect with you.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapeutic approach designed to help you process and heal from traumatic experiences or distressing memories. Through guided eye movements or other forms of engaging both sides of the body, EMDR helps your brain reprocess painful memories in a way that reduces their emotional charge, allowing you to move forward with less pain or distress. It's an effective way to help you heal from trauma, anxiety, and other difficult experiences, so you can feel more grounded and at peace. Here is a link to a wonderful short video explaining EMDR and the brain

Deep Brain Reorientation (DBR) is an innovative therapeutic approach that helps to reset and rewire the brain’s response to stress, trauma, and emotional patterns. By using specialized techniques, DBR aims to create new neural pathways, helping you break free from past triggers and emotional blocks. It’s designed to help you regain control over your thoughts and reactions, promoting emotional balance and a sense of well-being. If you’ve been feeling stuck or overwhelmed, DBR can help you experience lasting emotional healing and a deeper sense of peace. While phones can work in a pinch, we strongly recommend using a laptop, desktop, or tablet for your sessions whenever possible. These larger devices provide a more stable connection and a better visual experience, which is especially important when engaging in deeper therapeutic work such as EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) or DBR (Deep Brain Reorienting).
These therapies often involve visual cues or bilateral stimulation that are much more effective and easier to follow on a larger screen. Using the right setup helps create a more grounded, focused, and connected experience—making your sessions more effective and comfortable.
If a phone is your only option for a session, that's okay—we’ll work with what you have. But when possible, please try to use a larger device for your care.

At this time, we do not offer therapy for children and teens through virtual services. While online therapy can be effective for many adults, we find that in-person sessions tend to be more beneficial for younger clients. Children and teens often need more interactive, hands-on support that is best provided in a face-to-face setting. However, we’re happy to discuss alternative options or connect you with local resources that may better meet your child or teen's needs.
